Comprehensive Eye Exams
A comprehensive eye exam is about more than blurry vision. Learn the value of an exam at Gulfcoast Eye Center.
What does a comprehensive exam at Gulfcoast Eye Center include?
The team at Gulfcoast Eye Center believes strongly that primary eye care must begin with a comprehensive vision and eye health examination.
At Gulfcoast Eye Center, this examination:
- is designed to detect a wide range of problems affecting visual function, such as blurred vision or eye discomfort.
- tests for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and the ocular effects of many general health disorders such as diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as effects of medications.
We also recommend a dilated pupil examination to provide us the best assessment of eye health. It is recommended for all new patients and on a scheduled basis thereafter.
How often should I have an exam?
Gulfcoast Eye Center adheres to guidelines set by the American Optometric Association which recommends that all people should have a periodic, comprehensive eye examination every year, unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
